Amazon A+ Content


An Amazon program for sellers that allows them to increase amazon competitiveness by enhancing product listing and page details with high definition videos and images, comparison charts, robust FAQs, and more. A Product Listing with A+ Content can be identified by the 'From the manufacturer' section above the product description.

Amazon A9


The Amazon search box is powered by the powerful Amazon A9 Algorithm. Amazon’s algorithm is used to determine how products appear in search results. Every product sold through the Amazon platform sends many signals which the Amazon Algorithm picks up and sorts out to make the shopping experience a smooth ride. Titles, images, video, copy, A+ content, reviews, inventory, and other factors all influence the algorithm

Account Health


On Amazon Seller Central, the Account Health provides you a performance overview of your Amazon account. It evaluates the adherence of an Amazon account to targets and policies needed to sell on Amazon.

Amazon Advertising


Formerly Amazon Marketing Services (AMS), Amazon Advertising is a service that works in a pay-per-click fashion, similar to Google ads. ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale)


Amazon ACoS is measured as a percentage showing you how much a sale costs you in advertising money. This is calculated by dividing total ad spend by total sales. A theoretical ACoS of zero would mean you spend nothing, yet make a sale.

Amazon Ad Daily Budget


The average daily amount set for the advertisement for a group of keywords on Amazon.

Amazon Ad Impressions


The number of view gained for your product's ad on Amazon.

Amazon Ad Orders


The number of individual orders made by shoppers who clicked on your product’s sponsored ad.

Amazon Ad Spend


The charges by clicks for an Amazon ad campaign (in the selected time period).

Amazon Ad Status


It shows the current status of an Amazon ad group. For instance, running, paused, ended, archived, scheduled, incomplete, out of budget, or payment failure.

Ad Targeting


Amazon's Ad Targetting offers two options. One is where you select the keywords for an ad campaign and the other, where Amazon automatically selects keywords for an ad campaign.

Automatically Targeted Sponsored Product Ads


Under this type of Amazon Sponsored Ads, Amazon makes the choice of search terms to be placed for Ads.

Amazon Media Group(AMG)


This is Amazon Advertising Services for external advertising and specializes in sports.

Amazon Referral Fee


Amazon charges a certain percentage depending on what category you are selling on.

Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN)


Amazon assigns a 10-character identifier to each product. There are Parent ASINs and Child ASINs.

Amazon's Choice


Amazon’s Choice recommends highly rated, well-priced products available to ship immediately.

Amazon Affiliate Marketing


A way of marketing by which a seller pays a commission to an external influencer or website to drive traffic or make sales using referrals. Amazon’s Affiliate Program is one of the largest affiliate networks in the world that helps content creators, publishers, and website owners monetize their traffic.

Amazon's A-to-Z Guarantee


An Amazon customer program that protects you with guarantees for the condition and timely delivery of your goods coming from a 3P seller. Amazon customers can contest against sellers using the a-to-z guarantee.

Amazon AWS


Amazon Web Services offers a broad set of global cloud-based products including compute, storage, databases, analytics, networking, mobile, developer tools, management tools, IoT, security, and enterprise applications.

Amazon Alerting Tool


Amazon Product Alert tool is an advanced and customizable monitoring and notification tool that allows you to receive daily email alerts based on custom rules or triggers related to changes in any product on Amazon. Never miss a critical event again!

B

Bid


Amazon Advertising works on a bidding system. A bid is the amount of money you put into a keyword.

Brand Registry


Amazon Brand Registry service is designed to help brand owners selling through Amazon protect their intellectual property, get greater influence and control over their brand’s product listings on Amazon, and create an accurate and trusted experience for customers on Amazon.

Brand Store


Allows Brand & Seller to have their own brand website within their dedicated space on Amazon.

Buy Box


The Amazon Buy Box is the box on a product detail page where customers can begin the purchasing process by adding items to their shopping carts. Amazon Buy Box is awarded to the seller who has the product listed usually at the best price along with other factors.

Best Sellers Rank

Browse Node


Numerical codes to identify Amazon product categories. Nodes may be top-level and have many subcategories under them. Sub-cats are known to change.

Amazon Bundles


A group of products complementary to each other and sold under one single ASIN.

C

Category


Amazon organizes the products on the basis of characteristics and usage. There are categories and sub-categories. A product may be an element of a broad category as well as a subcategory. Some categories require approval while others don’t.

Child ASIN


An ASIN tied to the main or parent listing such that it appears on the same PDP with other child ASINs or variations of the same product.

CTR (Amazon Click through rate)


A metric to assess the number of buyers who view and click on your ads. The formula is Clicks / Number of impressions.

CVR (Amazon Conversion rate)


A metric to assess the percentage of visitors that complete the shopping cycle or purchase the product.

COGS (Cost of Goods Sold)


This is the total COST of products you sell at retail price. Cost of labor and materials to produce your product. This is usually the price per unit on your invoice or purchase order.

CPC(Cost-per-Click)


The amount a seller pays when a shopper clicks their ad. With Amazon PPC model, the price a seller pays is to be higher than what the next highest bidder is bidding for a given keyword.

Deals of the Day


One day discounts on single items or groups of items.

DSP (Demand-Side Platform)


Amazon Demand Side Platform or Amazon DSP is an exclusive platform that allows advertisers to buy display and video placements, programmatically. This type of advertising uses customer targeting data only available through Amazon, and allows brands to choose which digital advertising space is best for them and a tailored cost for it.

Display Ads


Amazon Sponsored Display Ads use Amazon’s audience demographics data to target audiences based on their shopping behavior. They will appear according to the user’s interest or products list, meaning that they’re going to target your consumer down to the smallest possible detail. Also seen as banners, Sponsored Display Ads on Amazon are visual advertisements that are used both on and off Amazon

Drop Shipping


Amazon drop shipping means allowing a third-party to fulfill orders to customers on your behalf, is generally acceptable. If you intend to fulfill orders using a drop shipper, check the guidelines.

Early Reviewer Program


The Amazon early reviewer program encourages customers who have already purchased a product to share their authentic experience about that product, regardless of whether it is a 1-star or 5-star review.

F

File Feed


Seller Central allows a seller to bulk upload the list to create and update existing listings. It can also be used to modify parent/child ASIN relationships.

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)


Amazon fulfillment program allows sellers to store products in Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Amazon then picks, packs, ships and provides customer service for these products.

Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM)


The seller controls all his shipping process. They do not need to pay the service fee and shipping inventory to Amazon to handle, the seller can use their own medium to send the items directly to the buyer.

Fulfillment Fee


Amazon’s fees and rates for filling orders are based on the size of the shipment.

Gateway Placement


An ad placement available only via Amazon advertising, and is on a specific landing page within a category.

Gated Category


According to Amazon Seller Central, there are a few categories that require approval to sell, but within those categories, there are massive amounts of items which can then be sold.

Hijacker Alert

A metric used by Amazon to assess your inventory health & performance over time. The IPI measures the performance of sellers’ FBA businesses.

Lightning Deals


A Lightning Deal is a promo on a product in a small quantity for a timer based duration.

Amazon Live


Amazon Live is a feature by Amazon that combines the fun and interactive nature of live video with online shopping. It allows sellers to promote their products by hosting their live streams for customers on Amazon.

LQS (Listing Quality Score)


DataHawk's Amazon Listing Quality Score is a metric computed by DataHawk that assesses how a product listing page complies with Amazon's content guidelines and our recommendations to help the product rank higher and increase conversions.

LTFS (Long Term Storage Fees)


Amazon Long Term Storage Fee is paid twice a year. They include all products which were stored for at least six months within the fulfillment center. These fees have two tiers, the first one is $11.25 per cubic foot for all items that have been 6 or 12 months in the fulfillment center since the last inventory cleanup. The other one is $22.50 for all times that were in the storage for 12 months or longer since the last inventory cleanup. The long-term storage fee is in addition to the monthly inventory storage fee.

M

Manually Targeted Sponsored Products Ads


These are Amazon Sponsored product ads campaigns that are only on keywords within your campaign. In this type of campaign, Amazon evaluates the relevance of target keywords associated with the product and the bid amount.

MAP (Minimum Advertised Price)


An Amazon MAP policy is a policy to maintain a minimum amount at which a product is advertised on Amazon. Many brands and manufacturers require their resellers to adhere to it if they want a contract to distribute their products.

MWS (Amazon Marketplace Web Services)


Amazon’s Marketplace Web Services and is where you get access to your API/MWS keys (application programming interface).

MTC (Marketplace Tax Collection)


A Marketplace Facilitator is defined as a marketplace that contracts with third party sellers to promote their sale of physical property, digital goods, and services through the marketplace. As a result, Amazon is deemed to be a marketplace facilitator for third-party sales facilitated through Amazon's global marketplaces. As the marketplace facilitator, Amazon will now be responsible to calculate, collect, remit, and refund state sales tax on sales sold by third party sellers for transactions destined to states where Marketplace Facilitator and/or Marketplace collection legislation is enacted. This is MTC or Amazon Marketplace Tax Collection.

Match Type


Amazon keyword match types apply for keyword targeted ads such as Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Products. Keyword targeted ads match the search terms with the keywords used in the campaign and show ads if it meets the criteria.The keyword match types that are available with Amazon Ads are broad, phrase and exact match type.

MCI (Multi Country Inventory)


Amazon MCI enables you to ship your FBA inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers in multiple countries of your choice across Europe.

Lightning Deals


A Lightning Deal is a promo on a product in a small quantity for a timer based duration.

Parent Listing (Parent ASIN/PASIN)


A listing that is not purchasable but is used to tie together different variations of the same product.

Posts


Amazon Posts are a new way to help stimulate brand and product discovery and consideration through quality, on-the-go imagery within a clickable Amazon news feed.

Prime


Under Amazon Prime, as Amazon Prime members, you receive many shipping, shopping, streaming, reading, and other benefits.

Private Label


Amazon Private Label are Amazon’s owned brands. The private labeling on Amazon is a commonly pursued course of action. People cherish the idea of making a living without even having to leave the comfort of their homes.

Product Detail Page (PDP)


The landing page where customers can read details, view images and videos, read Q&As and product reviews about a product.

Product Display Ads


Amazon Product Display Advertisements also known as cost per click advertising, works on a simple basis, which is, you only pay for as much as you get. Having a flat ad doesn’t do that, and this increases the ad value and utility by a marginal amount.

Product Tracker


Amazon Product Tracker is a set of advanced tools that enable you to track daily changes in the metrics and listing information of any product on Amazon, including price, reviews, ratings, sales rank or BSR, Buy Box data, title, and description.

PPC (Pay Per Click)


Amazon PPC is an online advertising model where advertisers run ads on a platform such as Google Ads and pay a fee for every click on it. Similar to how Google search works, when you type in a keyword in the Amazon search box and results appear, some of the top results will be sponsored posts – these are considered Amazon ads. They are denoted with subtle “sponsored” or “ad” text.

R

ROAS (Return On Ad Spend)


Amazon ROAS is metric to assess the revenue generated, calculated as Revenue generated/ advertising cost.

Referral Fee


Amazon Referral Fee is a percentage charge that a seller pays to Amazon to be able to sell on the platform.

Unverified Review


An "Amazon Verified Purchase" review means we've verified that the person writing the review purchased the product at Amazon and didn't receive the product at a deep discount.

Verified Review


A review left by a seller who has genuinely purchased the product. Amazon review could be from anybody and they may not necessarily have purchased the product.

Vendor Central


Amazon Vendor Central sellers sell their product in bulk to Amazon, who then acts as a distributor for that seller. They are called 1P Sellers.

Vine Program


Amazon’s Vine program helps genuine and trusted review makers post their opinions about the new products that may help customers make wise decisions while shopping. “Amazon invites customers to become vine voices based on their Reviewer Rank, which depends on their ability to help other customers.”
