Amazon Best Seller Analysis: Video Games
The analysis creates a leaderboard of brands with products that spent the most time in the Amazon BSR list for the given time period through a KPI we call the Presence Rate, the higher it is, the better.

Video games were already growing in popularity before the coronavirus pandemic. But now they’re everywhere. According to Nielsen Games Video Game Tracking (VGT), the number of gamers who say they are playing video games more now due to the COVID-19 pandemic has increased since March 23, 2020. The increase was highest in the U.S. (46%), followed by France (41%), the U.K. (28%), and Germany (23%).
All of this has led to crazy profits for video game companies, with Nintendo on the top of the list. It reported $1.4 billion in profits in the second quarter of 2020 which was around 5 times more than what it made for the same period, the year before.
Thanks to DataHawk’s proprietary Amazon Seller software, we’ve analyzed all the brands & products that entered the Top 100 list of this particular category on Amazon using Amazon Sales Rank checker or Amazon Best Sellers Rank and spent the maximum time in it since the 1st of January 2020.
