Bright Ventures redefines marketplace excellence with data analytics

Find out how Bright Ventures used DataHawk to transform marketplace data into actionable  insights, streamlining operations, optimizing margins and driving growth across its portfolio of brands and clients.

An E-Commerce pioneer

Bright Ventures is an entrepreneurial organization and business incubator that empowers brands and individuals with the guidance, ecommerce tools, and infrastructure they need to succeed in the online marketplace. A dynamic brand builder, product developer and agency all rolled into one, the company has been making waves in the eCommerce landscape, and boasts a strong track record of organic brand building and asset acquisition.

Tackling complexity across multiple marketplaces

Bright Ventures operates in a unique space, serving as both a brand builder and product developer, while also offering agency services to other brands. Their biggest challenge lies in managing the entire lifecycle of their clients’ brands, from identifying product opportunities to supply chain management and fulfillment. The scale and diversity of their operations demands robust analytics and data-driven insights that will optimize performance, for multiple brands, across multiple marketplaces.

“Anybody can run a single account with 50 ASINs,” explains Ryan Iverson, Bright Ventures CEO. “But we need to run 50 accounts with 100,000 ASINs, and we need to do it with low overhead because ecommerce margins are constantly getting tighter, and the data and the rules are always changing.”

Bright Ventures needed a tool that could not only stock and process massive amounts of data, but would also adapt dynamically to ecommerce rules and channels as fast as they evolved.

Harnessing the power of data analytics

Bright Ventures turned to DataHawk, a marketplace analytics solution that promised to address their data-related challenges.

“What really excited me after talking to DataHawk was their vision of transforming raw data into actionable insights. I had previously done that on a small scale, but I didn’t have an expandable data model to use across multiple seller accounts,” recalls Iverson.

DataHawk’s platform integrated seamlessly with Bright Venture’s many data sources, including Shopify and Google Analytics, streamlining the data collection process and producing actionable insights that allowed the company to make informed strategic decisions which gave them a competitive edge over other service providers.

DataHawk’s scalable architecture also allowed Bright Ventures to expand its data model across multiple seller accounts efficiently. Optimized specifically for ecommerce, the advanced solution has eliminated the need to maintain multiple API and ETL connections, saving the company valuable time and resources that they can now direct towards more strategic tasks.

Transformed operations, measurable success

Thanks to DataHawk’s comprehensive suite of tools, Bright Ventures now streamlines operations, optimizes margins and drives growth for their many clients on a mass scale. The platform’s powerful technology has transformed the way the company works.

The platform’s key benefits include:

Enhanced Efficiency
DataHawk has significantly reduced the time and effort spent on data collection and preparation and allowed Bright Ventures to focus on strategic initiatives.

Improved Decision-Making
With intelligent insights and real-time data, Bright Ventures can make informed decisions that positively impact its brand portfolio.

Scalability
Bright Ventures can now scale its data operations to handle a large volume of data efficiently.

A Competitive Advantage
DataHawk gives Bright Ventures a competitive edge by providing access to structured data for in-depth analysis and strategy development.

“Whether you’re selling $10 or $100 million on Amazon, the transaction costs are the same. You have to find efficiencies elsewhere to maximize your margins: your supply chain, your ad strategy… DataHawk gives us the actionable insights to do just that.”

Uncovering Patterns in Profit and Loss

Next up on Bright Venture’s “To Do” list is to merge traffic data with P&L data in order to identify causes, patterns and insights related specifically to profit and loss. “If there are differences on our balance sheet, we want to know why. Is it driven by traffic? By price? What contributing factors do we need to look at?” Iverson elaborates. “This is the next logical evolution. We want to be able to give this information to a team of brand managers and say, ‘Here’s all the information. Go make changes where the red lights are on, and facilitate the green lights.”

Forging Ahead Towards Growth

Bright Ventures’ success with DataHawk underscores the importance of data-driven decision-making in the eCommerce industry. As the company evolves in the ever-changing eCommerce landscape, DataHawk remains an integral part of their operational strategy, allowing them to adapt to market trends, scale their operations, and remain competitive. By leveraging the power of DataHawk’s analytics, the organization continues to maximize its marketplace potential and has positioned itself well for future growth.

“DataHawk is more than just a tool; it’s a partner in our journey. As we continue to grow and expand our services, DataHawk will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our goals,” Iverson concludes.
