DataHawk FAQs

General

What is DataHawk?

DataHawk is an end-to-end eCommerce analytics platform that automatically gathers every datapoint from Amazon and Walmart. Then we turn those numbers into clear insights that you can act on to grow revenue, profitability and market share.

Which teams can use DataHawk?

Executives, marketing, eCommerce, operations, finance, data teams, and more rely on DataHawk. The same unified dataset answers questions from keyword rank to SKU level P&L without asking everyone to learn SQL.

How does DataHawk collect my data and do I need developers?

No dev resources are required. The platform connects natively to Amazon & Walmart APIs, automates daily collection, and pipes clean data into ready-made dashboards on PowerBI and Looker Studio or your own BI tools via BigQuery or Snowflake connections.

Does the platform use AI?

Built in machine learning watches your catalogue for anomalies, alerts on shifts in performance so you spend time fixing issues, not finding them.

Can I export or fully own the raw data?

Yes. Unlike black box tools, you fully own your raw data with DataHawk. This gives your team:

• Full control over the data
• Flexibility to analyze however you need
• Transparency without limitations
• Freedom from being locked into a single system

With DataHawk you can:
• Export every data table
• Access data directly in:
    – BigQuery
    – Snowflake
• Read it in:
    – Google Sheets
    – Excel
    – Power BI
    – Any other BI tool you use

How many times a day does DataHawk check a product/ASIN’s information on Amazon?

DataHawk checks a product/ASIN’s information on Amazon once a day. It is usually between 12AM-6AM UTC.
The only exception is that when you add a new product for tracking, we immediately track its information. Thereafter it is 12AM-6AM UTC every day.

Can Datahawk automatically update my products listings with AI?

At the moment, DataHawk’s AI Copywriter tool helps you to optimize your listing content by providing you with an AI generated listing. Simply enter your listings URL, and the AI Copywriter will automatically regenerate your content. Then you can copy the AI generated listing content (title, bullet points, description, etc.) and edit your original listing with our AI Copywriter suggested listing.

Can I monitor my competitor’s top products and market share in my category?

Yes, you can view this information using the Market Intelligence Dashboard . It provides insights into brand market share, unit and revenue estimates, rankings, pricing, and more—at market, category, brand, and product levels.

Agencies

How does DataHawk make multi-client workflows easier?

A single secure workspace shows every client account, while role-based permissions end password sharing and let you grant exactly the access each teammate or client needs. Learn more about why DataHawk is the leading analytics platform for ecommerce agencies.

Can I automate client reporting and keep it on-brand?

Yes. White label dashboards, one click PDF exports and live share links allow you to deliver polished branded insights in minutes.

What if clients want data inside their own portals?

You can connect the BI tool of their choice: Sheets, Tableau, Power BI and more to the Snowflake or BigQuery databases created and managed for you, so you don’t have to copy and paste.

Does the platform help protect margins on ad spend?

Yes. Multi channel TACoS views, keyword monitoring modules and AI powered anomaly detection/alerts surface campaigns that need attention before you waste adspend.

Enterprise & High-Volume Sellers

If we manage thousands of SKUs, can the dashboards keep up?

Yes. DataHawk is built to support large scale businesses. Its enterprise-grade infrastructure easily handles thousands of SKUs, providing fast, reliable dashboards with daily SKU-level profit and loss, traffic, conversion, and ad spend metrics. You get a complete view without data lag or pipeline issues.

How can DataHawk improve profitability with data analysis?

Unified SKU level profit and loss, multi channel TACoS, and AI anomaly alerts help identify margin decreases. These can come from overspending on keywords or holding dormant inventory. Scenario style dashboards allow you to model the margin impact of price changes, ad budgets, or promotions. Automated cost attribution reveals the exact contribution of each lever to EBITDA. This gives leadership a clear and actionable path to higher profit per unit.

How quickly can I spot performance dips?

Daily (D-1) KPI updates plus proactive anomaly alerts flag ranking drops or Buy-Box losses, so you react before there’s a drop in revenue.

Can our BI team query the data directly?

Yes, DataHawk builds and hosts fully managed Snowflake or BigQuery databases. This gives analysts live SQL access while sparing them from having to perform pipeline maintenance.

What onboarding or support is included?

Enterprise plans come with white-glove onboarding, dedicated account management and ongoing analytics guidance from marketplace experts in Europe, United States, and other marketplaces.

Technical & Security

Is my data secure and compliant?

DataHawk hosts data in industry-leading databases (Snowflake or BigQuery) with enterprise-grade security, granular user permissions and audit logs to meet strict security teams’ requirements.

Which marketplaces and data types are covered?

DataHawk supports both public and private data from Amazon and Walmart, including sales, advertising, keywords, Buy Box status, reviews, traffic, and profitability. Data freshness and historical coverage vary by dataset:

• Product and Keyword Tracking: Forward-moving only
• Market Intelligence (Category Tracking): Up to 2 years of history
• Private Sales & Profit Data: Up to 2 years of history
• Advertising Data: Last 60 days

This ensures you get rich historical context where it matters most, while keeping your analysis up to date and actionable.

Does DataHawk break if we also sell DTC?

No, the platform was designed to unify marketplace and direct-to-consumer (DTC) data, so you can compare Amazon TACoS with Walmart ROAS in the same view. (If you need bespoke connectors, the composable API lets your devs build them.)

Pricing & Getting Started

How is DataHawk’s pricing structured?

Plans scale with the number of marketplace accounts connected and units bought to track product, keywords and categories. Agencies and enterprises can request custom quotes that bundle managed databases, white-labeling and premium support. Request a personalized demo to see how we can help and get your custom quote.

Does DataHawk offer a trial or proof of concept?

Yes, just a few clicks pipes Amazon and Walmart data into a managed Snowflake or BigQuery database. Setup only takes a few hours and datasets refresh automatically every day.

Does DataHawk connect Looker Studio or Excel without code?

Absolutely. Native connectors stream clean tables to Looker Studio, Power BI, Google Sheets or Excel, so non-technical users can explore metrics without writing scripts.

How often is data synced to my Snowflake or BigQuery destination?

Your hosted database refreshes automatically daily, so BI dashboards are updated every day.

Which BI or analytics tools can I plug into without writing code?

You can connect the BI tool of your choice directly to Snowflake or BigQuery to stream the data in Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, Snowsight, Google Sheets, and more. You also have direct access to Snowflake or BigQuery to query or export tables.

Implementation & Onboarding

How quickly can my first marketplace account be fully synced?

Connecting your first Amazon or Walmart account only takes a few minutes. Once connected, it can take up to 24 hours to collect and process the initial data. After that, dashboards will refresh automatically each day with D-1 data.

Note: For Amazon Ads, the platform back-fills up to 60 days of historical data. Other datasets have 2 years of historical or begin tracking from the moment they are connected.

Is sandbox or proof-of-concept access available before contract?

Yes, a paid Proof of Concept is available during which you and your team will receive training on DataHawk’s dashboards and datasets. Book a demo today!

How long does it take to provision my hosted database?

Once you click “Create Database” in the Destinations module, DataHawk spins up the Snowflake or BigQuery instance in a few hours and emails you when it’s ready to use.

How much historical data is back-filled when I connect Amazon Advertising?

DataHawk imports 60 days of ad history, then keeps everything updated daily so you never lose past performance.

After I add a new source, when will numbers show up in my dashboards?

Initial ingestion can take up to 24 hours; once the first sync completes, data refreshes automatically on the normal D-1 schedule.
